Job Summary
Foster social and emotional competencies and mental well-being in a safe, welcoming, inclusive environment while overseeing PAL School Afterschool Programming implementation. Assist with recruitment, hiring, and supervision of Group Leaders and Activity Specialists, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, SACC regulations, and contractual obligations. Coordinate with NYPD, NYCPS, DYCD, and community partners to build reciprocal relationships, manage special needs referrals, and provide mediation for on-site issues. Collect program data to drive recommendations and plan citywide activities. Respond to time-sensitive mental health needs including suicide prevention and grief services. Work Monday to Friday at PS 9 - Ryer Avenue Elementary in the Bronx.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in child development, education, physical education, or recreation OR a NYS Children's Program Administrator Credential OR a SACC Credential
- Two years of direct experience working with youth under 13
- Two years in college with 18 credits in child development, education, physical education, or recreation OR related
- A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated successful experience in providing services to youth that includes program management and staff supervision
- At least three years in a leadership capacity
- Demonstrated skills in program planning, implementation, or evaluation
- Microsoft office skills
- Bi-lingual in Spanish, French, or Chinese
- Able to travel to any PAL location in the 5 Boroughs for training
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday

- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively

- Expected to integrate mental health, SEL, and special needs inclusion skills into programming
