Job Summary
Assistant Director, People & Culture at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge oversees the daily People & Culture operations, employee relations, benefits, health, safety, and compliance, while partnering with hotel leadership on people strategy, workforce planning, and colleague engagement. The role supports seasonal recruitment for 300+ hires annually, oversees policy interpretation and coaching leaders, and drives learning and development initiatives alongside the Learning & Development Manager. This leadership position requires a proven track record in HR/business partnering, unionized environments, organizational change, and a focus on building a positive, inclusive colleague experience within a luxury hospitality setting. Strong collaboration with operational leaders, Talent Attraction, and Staff Housing is essential, along with data-informed decision-making, budget management, and delivering high-quality People & Culture initiatives during hotel transformation and a large seasonal workforce cycle.
Required Qualifications
- Three years of People & Culture experience in a business partnering or management role is required
- One year of experience leading, coaching, or developing a team is required
- University or college degree or diploma in a related discipline is preferred
- Experience working with unionized employees is an asset
- Experience supporting a large, seasonal, multi-department workforce is an asset
- Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
- CHRP designation or candidate working toward designation is an asset
- Hotel experience is an asset, but not required
