Job Summary
Assistant Director, People & Culture in Banff National Park leads support for People & Culture initiatives under the Director, focusing on strategy execution, onboarding, employee engagement, benefits, wellness programs, HRIS support, payroll liaison, and budget management. The role partners with leadership to interpret policies, guide leaders on People & Culture programs, facilitate orientation, develop development plans for direct reports, and assist with employee relations, performance reviews, and engagement activities. Offers subsidized on-site staff housing, comprehensive benefits, pension matching, travel programs, and opportunities for career growth within Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and Accor properties. Requires a Diploma or Bachelor Degree in a related field and 3+ years in HR with leadership experience; hospitality industry experience is desirable; must be eligible to work in Canada.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor Degree in related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources roles, with a minimum of 1 year experience in a Leadership level position
- Knowledge of local labour laws and employment law requirements
- Up-to-date on HR trends and practices in the market
- Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
- Ability to create a community which supports a collaborative environment
- Strong relationship builder
- Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of talent
- Excellent organization skills, Ability to multi-task
