Job Summary
Conduct holistic advising by meeting and corresponding with students regarding their transition to college, personal interests, and high-impact educational experiences such as research and study abroad. Provide 1:1 student success coaching to help undergraduates achieve academic and personal goals, while supporting those facing personal or academic challenges. Collaborate with advisors and staff across central units to coordinate a seamless web of support and connect students with campus resources for wellbeing. Create and implement inclusive programming that fosters engagement and belonging, and lead student success seminars utilizing the Life Design framework to promote academic resilience. Work remotely up to one day per week, with some evening hours required.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree and 3 or more years of experience in higher education setting or bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of experience in higher education
- Interest in student success and the first-year and transfer experiences
- Experience advising students or student organizations
- Strong interpersonal skills and exemplary written and oral communication abilities
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion
- Capacity to build positive and collaborative relationships with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds
- Highly organized and attentive to detail
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Some evening work may be required
