Job Summary
Assistant Director of Social Services assists in planning, directing, coordinating, and monitoring day-to-day operations of a Social Service Program and facility (e.g., Transitional Living, Homeless Services, Child Care Services, Emergency Services, Crisis Intervention). Serves as lead worker to program staff, trains staff, ensures compliance with policies and regulations, and acts as liaison to community agencies. Responsibilities include planning and supervising program activities (housing, facility maintenance, meal preparation, life skill classes, transportation, financial and employment assistance), supervising staff, HMIS system management and staff training, maintaining client records, coordinating facilities maintenance, conducting client intake and eligibility determinations, developing client action plans, providing counseling toward self-sufficiency, and generating routine reports. Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field with Master’s Degree preferred and at least three years of supervisory/program management experience (five years preferred). Strong English communication, math, and attendance abilities are required, with work performed in office, residential, and community settings as described.”,
