Assistant Director of Residence Life

Assistant Director of Residence Life at Miami University oversees the Office of Residence Life, supervising 6–12 live-in staff members and guiding the residential program’s mission, vision, and goals. Responsibilities include supervising/training/evaluating full-time and graduate staff, leading initiatives such as Resident Assistant recruitment and student leadership development, managing crises in collaboration with staff and university resources, teaching departmental or divisional courses, and supporting student retention initiatives. Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in Education, College Student Personnel, Counseling, or related field, plus 3 years of related experience and 1 year of post-Master’s Residence Life experience; strong independent work, initiative, commitment to student learning, effective communication, and collaboration with stakeholders are required.
