Job Summary
Coordinate nursing operations by acting as a liaison between units, admissions, and the Director of Nursing, while planning meetings to address resident care issues. Supervise nursing staff through daily unit rounds, monitoring meal compliance, chart audits for Medicare documentation, and resident satisfaction surveys. Manage personnel functions including competency evaluations, training development, and budget preparation, ensuring all staff meet qualification requirements and regulatory standards. Participate in the nurse on-call system and represent the Director at community meetings. Follow up on resident and employee concerns promptly to maintain high-quality care.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in the state employed
- Valid LPN license
- Valid CPR certification
- Seven years' experience in nursing
- Two years of which was supervisory in a long-term care environment
- Skilled in directing and motivating the workforce
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and at all levels of the organization
- Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations
- Ability to organize and prioritize
- Knowledge of training techniques for clinical staff
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act, state and federal regulations and Company policies and procedures regarding nursing standards and delivery of care
