Coordinate the day-to-day functions of the nursing department by assisting the Director of Nurses with planning, developing, and evaluating operations in accordance with facility policies and regulations. Manage staffing needs through recruitment, hiring, training, and schedule development while verifying sufficient staff availability for each shift. Evaluate nursing services coordination with other resident services to ensure continuity of care and communicate with physicians and families regarding resident issues. Participate in the facility's daily startup, quality assurance program implementation, and committee assignments. Review resident clinical records, consultant reports, and regulatory compliance actions; assist with MDS assessments and care plans as needed. Join the nursing on-call schedule.
