Job Summary
Provide clinical leadership and oversee daily operations of the nursing home in Cork, Ireland, including care delivery, documentation, and quality improvement initiatives. Lead clinical governance, audits, and risk management while managing staff rostering, performance, and professional development. Serve as the primary contact for residents and families, ensuring effective communication and supporting the Director of Nursing. Ensure medication management practices comply with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland guidelines, including liaising with GPs and pharmacies for reviews and audits. Provide education and induction training on safe prescribing, administration, and electronic prescription procedures. Requires NMBI registration, minimum three years in senior nursing or management, and knowledge of HIQA standards. Competitive salary, 25 days leave, and relocation support available.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a senior nursing or management role such as Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON), Clinical Nurse Manager (CNM), or Senior Staff Nurse, preferably in older person care
- Demonstrated clinical expertise along with strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- Committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care
- Strong knowledge and understanding of HIQA standards, regulations, notifications, and best practice guidelines
- Relevant post-registration qualification required
- Must be eligible to work in Ireland
Desired Qualifications
- A post-registration qualification in Gerontology and/or Dementia Care is highly desirable, or a willingness to undertake such qualification within 3 years of employment with employer support
