Job Summary
Hire new nurses and oversee onboarding by training staff or assigning them to trainers. Create schedules to ensure adequate nursing coverage for every shift. Coach nurses to improve performance and handle discipline issues. Monitor expenses to keep the facility within budgetary constraints. Hold staff meetings to discuss patient status and conduct evaluations identifying strengths and areas for improvement. Make rounds to assess patient status and observe nurses. Check patient records to ensure accuracy and up-to-date information. Requires extensive knowledge of nursing best practices and healthcare laws, strong communication skills, and analytical abilities to interpret diagnostic and financial data. Includes health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills to interact positively with staff, patients and patients' families
- Extensive knowledge of nursing best practices and federal, state and local healthcare laws
