Assistant Director of Nursing

Job Summary
Conduct daily rounds to monitor nursing care delivery and assess residents for appropriate care levels. Oversee medications, treatments, and general nursing services aligned with physician directives and care plans. Manage and coordinate nursing and care staff, including resident assistants and certified nursing assistants, while supervising floor shifts and interim documentation. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, policy formation, and administrative decision-making to drive compliance and quality improvement. Interview, hire, train, and evaluate the resident care team to increase occupancy while prioritizing resident wellbeing.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school
- Current state license for LPN or RN
- 3+ years of nursing experience
- CPR and BLS certification
- Working knowledge of best person-directed care practices for seniors, including those with dementia
- Knowledgeable of and experienced in conducting preadmission assessments, training, and education to staff, residents, and family members
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds independently
- Ability to lift up to 200 pounds with assistance
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to climb or balance
- Ability to communicate effectively and identify/interpret written information
- Ability to follow all infection prevention and control protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Ability to stay current on all training and ongoing education initiatives
- Ability to actively pursue self-improvement and embrace opportunities for continuous learning
- Successful completion of a background check
- Successful completion of a drug screening
- Participation in required health assessments (such as TB testing or physical evaluations)
