Job Summary
Lead daily nursing operations in an inpatient behavioral health setting by collaborating with the Chief Nursing Officer to ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards. Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management for nursing staff while evaluating staffing needs and ensuring appropriate coverage. Partner with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to drive quality initiatives, support staff development, and improve patient outcomes. Respond to crisis situations, investigate incidents, and assist with corrective action planning. Monitor clinical documentation for accuracy and participate in hospital committees and organizational leadership initiatives. Provide direct patient care when needed.
Required Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum one year of leadership or nursing management experience
- Minimum one year of inpatient behavioral health, psychiatric, addiction recovery, or closely related nursing experience
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety
- Leadership experience as an RN
- Current inpatient psychiatric nursing experience
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or higher
- Five or more years of Registered Nurse experience
- Two or more years of Behavioral Health nursing experience
- Previous experience as a Nursing Manager or Assistant Director of Nursing
- Experience leading teams within an inpatient psychiatric hospital
- Experience working in a unionized healthcare environment
- CPR certification
- De-escalation and restraint certification
- Experience working within a unionized hospital environment
