Job Summary
Plan, develop, organize, implement, and evaluate the day-to-day functions of the nursing department in accordance with facility policies and regulations. Coordinate nursing services with other resident services to ensure continuity of care and communicate with attending physicians and families regarding resident care issues. Assist the Director of Nurses in determining staffing needs, recruiting, hiring, and training personnel, while verifying sufficient staff availability for each shift and developing work assignments. Participate in the facility's daily start-up process, quality assurance program, and committee assignments. Review resident clinical records, consultant reports, and regulatory compliance actions, including MDS assessments and care plans as needed. Join the facility's nursing on-call schedule and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Must have completed a RN program at an accredited vocational schools, college, or university
- Must possess a current Texas RN Licensure
- Must have experience working in a skilled nursing facility for at least 3 years
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred to possess a current RUG certification
