Job Summary
Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) needed to assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department and to direct in-service educational programs in accordance with current federal, state and local standards governing the facility. Oversees quality of care to residents, supports staff through program development, and ensures compliance with licensure and regulatory requirements. The role requires leadership in nursing administration, ability to develop and implement training programs, and commitment to patient care in a skilled nursing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing, with current licensure as required by state and federal law
- Must maintain current CPR certification
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to read and write in a legible and understandable manner
- Must speak and understand English
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care facility or other healthcare related facility
- Must be knowledgeable of general, rehabilitative and restorative nursing and medical practices and procedures, and laws, regulations and guidelines governing long-term care
- Must possess the ability to plan and develop new programs
- Positive attitude toward the elderly
- Willingness to seek out methods and principles and incorporate them into training practices
