Job Summary
Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) needed to assist the Director of Nursing in planning, organizing, developing and directing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department; direct in-service educational programs in accordance with federal, state, and local standards; ensure the highest level of quality care is maintained; position requires RN licensure, CPR certification, and experience in long-term care settings with leadership responsibilities.
Required Qualifications
- Must be a Registered Nurse, according to state requirements, in good standing and meet all applicable federal and state licensure requirements.
- Must maintain current CPR certification.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must show ability to read and write in a legible and understandable manner.
- Must speak and understand English.
- Previous experience in a hospital, long-term care facility or other healthcare related facility.
- Must be knowledgeable of general, rehabilitative and restorative nursing and medical practices and procedures and laws, regulations and guidelines governing long-term care.
- Must possess the ability to plan and develop new programs.
- Positive attitude toward the elderly.
- Must be willing to seek out methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing training practices.
