Job Summary
Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) responsible for planning, organizing, developing, directing and delegating the overall operation of the Nursing Department in accordance with federal, state, local standards, guidelines and facility policies to ensure the highest quality of care. Responsibilities include directing nursing procedures, supervising staff, auditing charts and EHR, developing plans of care and care conferences, coordinating admissions and staffing, budgeting and purchasing, implementing continuing education and orientation, participating in quality and regulatory activities, and ensuring compliance with licensing requirements. Requires active RN licensure in Illinois or Wisconsin, CPR certification, nursing administration experience, leadership skills, and strong communication with residents, families, and staff.
Required Qualifications
- Current, unencumbered RN license in Illinois and/or Wisconsin
- Minimum of one year nursing service administration experience
- Current CPR certificate or certification within two weeks
- Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures
- Ability to read, write and speak English clearly
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Ability to deal tactfully with customers, families, visitors, personnel, and agencies
- Leadership and supervisory ability
- Personable, enthusiastic, and resourceful
- Ability to move/work in varied physical environments
- Ability to work with ill, disabled, elderly and emotionally upset individuals
- Ability to lift/move 50 lbs as needed
- Exposure to infectious waste/diseases (HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B)
