Job Summary
Assistant Director of Nurses (RN) provides supervisory leadership to the nursing staff under the Director of Nurses, assisting in personnel, orientation, supervision, and staffing. Responsibilities include reviewing resident records and physician orders, admitting/transferring/discharging residents, creating weekly nursing staff schedules, coordinating with consultants, updating Plans of Care, ensuring infection control and aseptic techniques, reviewing various assessments and documentation, participating in committee meetings (Weight Variance and Pressure Ulcer), and ensuring compliance with nursing service procedures and Health Department directives. Requires RN licensure in the practicing state, a graduate from an accredited nursing program, and at least two years of supervision experience; suggested education requirement is a Bachelor's degree.
Required Qualifications
- Current nursing licensure in the state practicing
- A graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing or approved RN program
- Two years supervisory experience
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (speaking and writing)
- Administrative ability with professional competence and flexibility
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and county laws governing skilled care nursing facilities
