Job Summary
Assist the Director of Nurses in personnel, orientation, supervision, and staffing while conducting weekly skin assessment rounds and making monthly licensed nurses' schedules. Review physician's orders, resident charts, and transcriptions to ensure accuracy, and update resident Plans of Care for appropriate goals and problems. Participate in Weight Variance and Pressure Ulcer committee meetings, attend staff meetings and in-service classes, and follow up on Department of Health Services findings. Assist in admitting, transferring, and discharging residents, and investigate unusual occurrences or alleged abuse. Present a professional image to consumers, adhere to company standards for resolving concerns, and ensure all resident rights are protected.
Required Qualifications
- A graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing or an approved LVN/RN program
- Current LVN/RN nursing licensure as a nurse in the State in which practicing
- A minimum of two years' experience in supervision
- Possession of good mental and physical health
- Demonstrates leadership ability and capability to work effectively with all levels of personnel
- Ability to communicate effectively in English through both speech and writing
- Administrative ability with evidence of professional competence and flexibility
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and county laws governing skilled care nursing facilities
