Job Summary
Implement membership strategies to recruit new members and retain existing members while supervising part-time staff and volunteers. Assist the director with hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluating personnel to achieve strategic goals. Coordinate program registration logistics for phone, walk-in, and web enrollment, and organize monthly community events including appreciation days and open houses. Maintain staff schedules, update operational manuals, and run membership reports to track trends. Provide facility tours, model customer service standards, and conduct training on systems and cause-driven leadership.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to approximately 15–25 pounds
- Ability to travel locally for outreach, meetings, or community events as needed
- Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for extended periods
- Ability to communicate effectively with members, staff, and the public, both in person and via phone or virtual platforms
- Ability to analyze information, identify problems and trends, and solve complex problems
- Strong time-management skills
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Reliable, visible, consistent and professional
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Must be flexible and adaptable
- Weekly schedule includes one weekend day and some evening or early morning hours
- Opening and Closing responsibilities included
- Occasional evening or weekend work for events or membership activities
- Ability to set up and break down for events

Desired Qualifications
- Additional college coursework and/or experience in membership, customer service, sales, or community engagement
- One to two years of supervisory experience in customer service
- Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software
- Y USA Team Leader Certificate
