Job Summary
Assistant Director of Food Services at peopleCare Communities oversees and supports the Dietary Department to ensure optimal service to residents and families, monitors resident nutritional status, maintains operational records, assists in budget and union matters, promotes a positive team environment, participates in the interdisciplinary team, and ensures compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards in a long-term care setting.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an accredited program as a Food Service Supervisor/Nutrition Manager
- A minimum of 1 year experience in large quantity food preparation, financial planning and food purchasing
- Supervisory experience in a unionized environment and/or in a long term care setting
- Current membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management
- Must be knowledgeable of the nutritional needs of the residents in an LTC home
- Must be able to work and communicate effectively with residents of an LTC home
- Must be an effective team player who works well with others
- Must be knowledgeable of the Ontario Food Premises Regulation, Food Safety Code of Practice and Canada's Food Guide to Healthy Eating, CCHSA/ORCA, Ontario's Long Term Care Home Program manual, and OH&S Act and regulations. Must have knowledge of Inspection protocol process.
