Job Summary
Oversee daily operations of the Facilities/Engineering Department, including work order distribution, prioritization, and tracking. Supervise engineering activities for building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and life safety while conducting regular inspections of guest rooms, public spaces, and grounds. Administer preventative maintenance programs, support budgeting for operating expenses and capital expenditures, and manage inventory of parts and tools. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, building codes, and safety standards. Serve as technical liaison for hotel departments, contractors, and vendors, and evaluate new technologies and maintenance practices. Provide daily direction and operational oversight to Engineering team members, including training, task assignment, and performance feedback. Maintain effective relationships with external contractors and emergency service providers. Work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed to respond to after-hours maintenance situations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in engineering, facilities, maintenance, or related professional area
- Technical training in HVAC-R, electrical, and/or plumbing
- Working knowledge of building systems, preventative maintenance programs, and life safety operations
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving abilities
- Flexible schedule — must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and workplace safety practices
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs as required
- Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including exposure to heat, cold, humidity, noise, mechanical rooms, rooftops, and confined spaces
- Ability to respond to emergency or after-hours maintenance situations as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Prior hotel, resort, or luxury hospitality facilities leadership experience
- Supervisory or management experience within an Engineering or Facilities department
- Construction, renovation, or capital project experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, operationally complex environment
