Job Summary
Assistant Director of Educational Funding at Lakeland University coordinates financial aid activities and advising for students and families. Responsibilities include advising on federal, state, and institutional aid options; verifying application data and conducting compliance testing; evaluating financial need using federal formulas; awarding aid in accordance with policies; communicating with students, parents, and colleagues via multiple channels; delivering presentations at community and on-campus events; working with Jenzabar and other financial aid software to ensure regulatory compliance; researching federal and state regulations; traveling to other campuses for events; supervising student employees and coordinating training and scheduling; and performing related tasks as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Preferably 1-3 years of experience in higher education; however, willing to train
- Demonstrate ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Ability to effectively manage time and priorities
- Ability to prioritize office workflow and make effective administrative decisions to increase efficiency, accuracy, and productivity
- Demonstrated ability to communicate (written and verbal) with a variety of individuals tactfully and effectively
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) or equivalent products
- Demonstrates organizational ability, and attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Ability to work evenings or weekends as needed which is limited
