Job Summary
Teach weekly art and digital design classes and summer camps for various ages and media while ensuring student success through active engagement and progress documentation. Conduct proactive check-ins with parents and families to discuss growth opportunities, manage makeup scheduling, and upsell additional classes. Implement the One River Methodology curriculum by developing lesson plans and resources, while maintaining the studio by ordering supplies, organizing spaces, and overseeing digital lab maintenance. Collect, curate, and install student exhibitions, then plan and prompt opening receptions for special events. This role supports a creative community where teachers work alongside practicing artists, offering structured onboarding, ongoing training, and clear promotion paths within a growing organization.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in Visual Art, Art Education or Design (Master's a plus)
- 3+ years experience teaching visual arts for K–12 and/or adults
- Digital lab maintenance experience
- Track record of high-quality instruction, classroom management, and student progress
- Inventory management experience
- Clear communicator, organized, and energized by a busy studio environment
- Passion for art history, contemporary art and a 'students-first' mindset
- 2 evenings a week
- either Saturday or Sunday
