Assistant Director of Counseling & Psychological Services - Clinical and Outreach Services

Job Summary

Oversee Community Liaison services, including Let's Talk, and manage outreach programs and group services. Supervise a team of Counselor Therapist staff and provide direct clinical services in a limited capacity. Guide vision for ongoing staff development and assess the scope of clinical services supporting Cornell Health and Student and Campus Life. Lead organizational leadership in university mental health initiatives while fostering a culture of belonging and healthy work environments.

Required Qualifications

  • Masters degree in social work with 'C' or 'R' designation (LCSW or LCSW-R)
  • Doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology (PhD or PsyD)
  • Minimum of 5 years of work-related experience
  • Licensed in New York State
  • Experience supervising, managing, and leading a diverse clinical team
  • Supervising the clinical work of others
  • 3 years of clinical supervision experience
  • Demonstrated skill in understanding cultural differences
  • Proven experience connecting inclusion, belonging and wellbeing practices to business goals

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to create working partnerships across a variety of academic systems within higher education
  • Proficiency in mental health interventions with diverse populations
  • Mental health administration
  • Integrated health systems
  • Experiencing setting and measuring program outcomes
  • Proficiency using electronic health record management systems
  • Proficiency in a language in addition to English
