Job Summary

Lead the development and execution of public-facing, worker-centered campaign communications to drive organizing breakthroughs across national, regional, and state levels. Build and manage a team of campaign communicators, overseeing the creation of strategic plans, talking points, op-eds, and multimedia collateral. Coordinate messaging with International Union divisions and local leaders to build awareness of organizing demands while prioritizing growth and development of staff. Manage multiple priority projects with frequent travel, overnight stays, and long, irregular hours required. Model consistent leadership and independent judgment as a key member of the national organizing communications team.

Required Qualifications

  • Five to seven years of related work experience or combination of education and experience
  • Must be available for frequent travel with overnight stays required
  • Long and irregular hours
  • Long and extended hours and travel required
  • Must be able to represent the International Union with independent judgment and a high level of professionalism
  • Handle multiple priority projects simultaneously and meet established deadlines

Desired Qualifications

  • Knowledge of unions and other advocacy organizations preferred
  • Priority given to candidates with real-world communications and organizing experience, regardless of formal education
