Job Summary
Oversee aquatics program development and operations, recruiting, training, and supervising staff to deliver high-quality, member-focused services. Establish new program activities, create swim class schedules, and conduct lifeguarding, swim instruction, and safety trainings while monitoring daily pool operations for health and safety compliance. Assist in hiring diverse staff, evaluating performance, and running monthly in-services, ensuring all certifications remain current. Support marketing efforts, fundraising activities, and Program Committee meetings while modeling relationship-building skills in all member interactions. Maintain facility cleanliness and equipment organization, reporting issues promptly.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- One to two years related experience
- Committing to support and further our anti-racist work as an organization
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite
- Experience in learning/using other office systems (financial, member management, etc.)
- Minimum age of 21
- Demonstrate proficiency of swim skills in accordance with YMCA standards
- Strong foundation in stroke mechanics
- CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification
- AED certification
- First Aid certification
- Emergency Oxygen certification
- Lifeguard Training certification
- YMCA Swim Instructor certification
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent preferred
- One to two years related experience preferred
- Lifeguard Instructor certification
- Angelfish certification
- Completion or working toward completion of Team Leader Certification
