Assistant Director of Academic Affairs

Job Summary

Manage admissions policies and data repositories for PhD and Master's programs, leading annual course offerings and instructor assignments. Coordinate degree program policies, financial aid allocations, and NIH T32 grant applications while overseeing student budgets. Staff lead on education committees, ensuring compliance across Harvard's Graduate School and Public Health School. Maintain accurate academic records, course archives, and longitudinal data for alumni outcomes. Work with faculty, program directors, and registrar offices to support student success and strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in an academic setting
  • prior supervisory experience
  • Experience in Higher Education / Graduate School
  • Experience working with database management, particularly Microsoft Access
  • Experience with NIH T32 awards
  • Experience with financial oversight and budgeting
  • Experience with database management software, particularly Microsoft Access
  • Experience working with LaTeX
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience multi-tasking and working independently
  • Experience successfully responding to multiple, competing, and time-sensitive deadlines
  • Experience managing sensitive information and situations with discretion
  • Extremely organized
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to manage relationships with different stakeholders
  • Leadership and team building
  • Standard Hours/Schedule: 35 hours per week

  • This position has a 90 day orientation and review period
