Job Summary
Coordinate recruitment, enrollment, and academic support for the SSS - Access (Disability) program participants. Supervise project programming, budget management, and social media initiatives while hiring, training, and evaluating advisors and coaches. Monitor academic progress, collect data for program effectiveness, and develop tracking systems for enrollment and student success plans. Serve as an academic advisor, assist with developmental education, and support graduate school admissions and financial aid. Design retention activities, coordinate collaborative student-driven efforts, and submit annual performance reports. Meet participants regularly to complete success plans and provide career and scholarship guidance.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in education, counseling, counselor education, psychology, special education, student personnel, or a related field
- Extensive knowledge of recruitment, academic mentoring, follow-up tracking
- Minimum two years of experience in a student support services setting in four-year college or university
- Minimum two years of experience working with students with disabilities preferably in higher education setting
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Experience in developing student programming that fosters confidence-building, leadership, and academic skills
- Ability to teach in individual and small group instruction settings
- Demonstrated knowledge of academic, career and advising principles and practices
- Experience in academic advisement in higher education or related field
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, customer service, communication and time management skills with ability to pay attention to details and follow-through
- Demonstrated initiative and experience working with students, faculty, and staff of diverse backgrounds
- Working software knowledge, including Word, Excel, Access, student databases
- Previous experience working on a federally funded program preferred
- Successful experience working with college students from diverse backgrounds, including educational, socioeconomic, culturally ethnic, and physical and/or learning disabilities
