Job Summary
Oversee the management of PAL School After-school Programming, including implementation of mental health support, inclusion coordination, and resource activation for youth with special needs. Supervise part-time Group Leaders and Activity Specialists while fostering a Youth Development culture through training, observations, and coaching on SEL and inclusion policies. Foster social and emotional competencies in a safe, inclusive environment by ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, SACC regulations, and contractual obligations. Coordinate with NYPD, NYCPS, DYCD, and community partners to build reciprocal relationships and plan citywide programs and special events. Collect program data to drive recommendations and provide mediation for on-site issues, responding appropriately to time-sensitive mental health needs.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree in child development, education, physical education, or recreation or related
- Two years of direct experience working with youth under 13
- NYS Children's Program Administrator Credential
- SACC Credential
- Two years in college with 18 credits in child development, education, physical education, or recreation or related
- A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated successful experience in providing services to youth that includes program management and staff supervision
- At least three years in a leadership capacity
- Demonstrated skills in program planning, implementation, or evaluation
- Microsoft office skills
- Bi-lingual in Spanish, French, or Chinese
- Able to travel to any PAL location in the 5 Boroughs for training
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively
- Open to learning and growing
- Knowledge of DYCD Connect
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with SACC regulations and DYCD funding requirements
- Associate's in child development, education, physical education or recreation or related and two years of direct experience working with youth under 13
- NYS Children's Program Administrator Credential and 2 years of experience working with youth under 13
- SACC Credential and 2 years of experience working with youth under 13

- Open to learning and growing
- All staff will be learning mental health, SEL, and special needs inclusion skills and expected to integrate them into programming
- Knowledge of DYCD Connect preferred
