Job Summary
Lead Marian University’s athletic communications program by directing all operations for the athletic communications office, supervising the Sports Information Specialist, and partnering with athletics marketing to align messaging and brand across platforms. Manage the digital presence (official website and social media), oversee game-day operations and public-facing elements (statistics, live stats, streaming, public address, and in-game content), produce and distribute statistics and historical data for conferences and national awards, and represent Marian Athletics at league events while ensuring compliance with conference and NAIA regulations. Travel with teams as needed and supervise a student worker staff at games and in-office hours to maintain professional standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in communications, journalism, sports management, or sports marketing
- Demonstrated success in collegiate athletic communications, sports information, sports marketing, or related field
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising staff and managing multiple priorities
- Proficiency in industry-standard platforms and tools (e.g., Stat Crew/PrestoStats/Genius, Adobe Creative Suite, web CMS, live streaming technologies)
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Understanding of emerging trends in digital media, social media strategy, and content creation within collegiate athletics
- Ability to manage budgets and operate within institutional resources
