Job Summary
Oversee all building maintenance and housekeeping services for The Crane Safe Haven in Manhattan, ensuring compliance with city and state regulations through weekly walkthroughs, routine audits, and preventative maintenance schedules. Supervise Facility Maintenance Supervisors and manage maintenance contracts, including elevators, while coordinating with third-party vendors and internal teams to address systemic issues and prepare for annual inspections by DHS, DOH, DOB, and FDNY. Manage housekeeping staff levels, inventory audits, and unit turnovers to maintain a safe, clean environment for 100 residents, providing on-call coverage for overnight and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED, or Trade School Certification
- Minimum 5 years working in the building trades or related field
- Minimum 2 years in a supervisory capacity in a residential building serving homeless or other vulnerable populations, with experiences as a superintendent or equivalent, maintaining building systems, including boilers, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and security/access control
- Previous experience using Maintenance Connection, or another Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) system
- current S-12 Fire Sprinkler, S-13 Standpipe, and S-95 Fire Alarm Systems Certifications
- Experience working with city and state agencies with building oversite and responding to violations that include but aren't limited to: DHS, OTDA, DOHMH, FDNY, etc
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Teams
- Experience and proficiency with property management software
- Ability to climb stairs

- On-call availability
