Job Summary
Conduct daily walk-throughs and visually assess the safe operation of the hotel's physical structure, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems. Verify completion of routine maintenance, repairs, and renovations across public spaces, grounds, and employee areas. Supervise department staff, manage hiring and training, and oversee payroll and manpower scheduling. Maintain energy management and preventive maintenance programs while generating reports and managing contractor bids. Actively train in fire prevention, environmental health, and safety systems. Inform management of building conditions and propose cost-effective maintenance solutions. Represent the hotel in community organizations and collaborate with all departments to uphold AAA Four-Diamond and Forbes Four-Star standards.
Required Qualifications
- High school or equivalent education
- Five to seven years in a major hotel hospital or building
- Four years in a supervisory capacity
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain any government required licenses certificates or permits
- Ability and experience to acquire a first class operating engineer's license in boilers and air conditioning
- Ability to speak read write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
- Ability to read and write to facilitate the communication process
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Basic computational ability
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office & Outlook programs
- Ability to operate or learn to operate HotSOS maintenance program
- Knowledge of computer accounting programs
- Math skills
- Budgetary analysis capabilities
- Thorough knowledge of all types of mechanical equipment such as chillers boilers water softeners and refrigeration equipment
- Thorough knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems maintenance
- Ability to maintain records of power water and fuel consumption
- Experience in office procedures ordering materials securing bids
- Knowledge of city codes and other applicable building laws
- Blueprint reading
- Common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Basic knowledge of building codes

- Bachelor's Degree or related technical school degree
