Job Summary
Assistant Director, Clinician Services Center at Duke Health leads HR Shared Services across the clinician lifecycle, providing strategic and operational oversight of end-to-end HR service delivery, ensuring scalable, compliant, data-driven services with a focus on employee and leader experience. Responsibilities include end-to-end HR service delivery, escalation of complex issues, people leadership and workforce optimization, process design and standardization, technology enablement and automation, data analysis and performance management, and cross-functional partnership with HRBP, Payroll, Finance, IT, and Compliance. The role emphasizes developing SOPs and training materials, leveraging HRIS/case management systems, driving continuous improvement, and sustaining an audit-ready, policy-aligned shared services operation. Minimum qualifications require a Bachelor’s degree in a related field; Master’s preferred; 5+ years in HR operations/shared services; HR service delivery/process improvement experience; SHRM-CP/SCP or Lean/Six Sigma preferred; strong data-driven mindset and HRIS proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Five (5) or more years of progressive experience in HR Operations, HR Shared Services, or large-scale service delivery environments.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams in complex, high-volume operational settings.
- Proven experience with HR service delivery models, process improvement, and operational governance.
- SHRM-CP/SCP, Lean, Six Sigma, or similar certifications preferred.
- Strong experience using data and metrics to manage performance and drive operational decisions.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms, case management systems, and standard productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft tools, Excel, PowerPoint, ServiceNow, SAP, Absence resources).
- Advanced knowledge of employment laws and regulatory requirements impacting HR operations.
- Experience collaborating across HR functions, including HRBPs, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, and Employee Relations.
- Proven leadership, coaching, and change management skills.
