Job Summary
As an Assistant Diesel Mechanic at WM in Aurora, CO, you will inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on diesel trucks and equipment; estimate time and material costs for repairs; work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs); respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns; perform safety checks and complete required paperwork; assist senior Mechanics with project work; review and address items identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports; maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards; and contribute to servicing a fleet that supports millions of customers. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 2:30 PM–11:30 PM, with on-site work at the Aurora, CO hauling site. Qualifications include 2–4 years of relevant experience, a valid driver's license, legal eligibility to work in the United States, ability to meet physical requirements, and successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and physical. The role involves working in a shop environment with potential exposure to health and safety risks, and offers an hourly pay range of $23–$25 plus shift differential, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for career development.
