Job Summary
Assistant Designer for Callaway Men’s at Perry Ellis International. Responsible for supporting the design team from concept to production, preparing technical sketches (Adobe Illustrator) and detailed specifications, managing component approvals, and executing technical fittings. Lead or participate in fittings, ensure timely handoffs of design packages to Product Development, Technical Design, and vendors for prototypes and sales samples, and monitor material and color approvals (lab-dips, knit-downs, strike-offs). Contribute to seasonal concepts, line edits, fabrication decisions, and trend-driven design that aligns with Callaway Men’s aesthetic. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure designs are production-ready and cohesive across the collection.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design (required)
- Working knowledge and mastery of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Familiarity with PLM systems and Ned Graphics (or ability to learn)
- Aptitude to learn and implement new computer technology, including 3-D design software
- Strong conceptual skills, knowledge of men’s silhouettes, fabrics, colorways; proficiency in creating technical sketches and specifications
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
