Assistant Designer (Design & Drafting Technician)

Job Summary
Create detailed technical drawings from engineer inputs for substations and transmission projects, translating sketches and markups into documented drawings (schematics, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, plan/elevation, layout, assembly, foundations, grounding) using AutoCAD and related tools; support design development and prepare Issued-for-Construction packages; assist Engineers and project team with approvals, sign-offs, and As-Built drawing packages; participate in occasional site visits for design details; strong drafting experience in high voltage transmission/substation projects and proficiency in AutoCAD, with exposure to MicroStation; knowledge of Inventor/Revit and PLS CADD a plus; hybrid work options and relocation assistance available.
Required Qualifications
- Drafting diploma or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years drafting experience in high voltage transmission and substation layout
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Knowledge of MicroStation
- Knowledge of Inventor/Revit would be an asset
- Knowledge of PLS CADD or similar design software would be an asset
