Job Summary
The Assistant Department Manager, Photo Lab assists the Department Manager in directing staff to maintain merchandising, customer service, and operational standards within the department, and to perform other management duties as required. The role involves managing in a fast-paced retail environment while delivering quality service in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner. Responsible for supporting staff development and promotional readiness, with a focus on photofinishing knowledge, supervisory and leadership responsibilities, and adherence to company policies and standards. Required Qualifications
- Minimum one year of management retail experience preferred, though applicants without management experience may be considered
- Current performance review indicating readiness for promotion
- Successful completion of mandatory management training courses for current position
- Extensive knowledge of technical, mechanical, and digital photofinishing
- Skill in computer operating systems and software used in Photofinishing and Photo Lab
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
- Positive attitude and support of company initiatives
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, employees and management
- Well organized and able to work independently
- Sound supervisory, delegation, and leadership skills
