Job Summary
Train and develop Product Sales Specialists while ensuring exceptional customer service and product information. Demonstrate thorough understanding of merchandise, installation, and safe lifting practices. Provide direction to specialists, complete certification courses, and communicate standard operating procedures. Validate product placement and pricing, manage inventory needs, and process merchandise to the showroom floor. Greet every customer, assist with product questions, process transactions at the POS, and present 'how-to' classes. Stock displays, create price tags, and follow cash handling guidelines. Work Monday through Sunday in a warehouse environment with moderate to noisy conditions, lifting up to 60 pounds occasionally.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of customer service/sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to drive
- Ability to lift 30 – 60 pounds of force occasionally
- Ability to lift 20-30 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to lift greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly
- Ability to use hands and fingers to handle or feel
- Ability to stand
- Ability to walk
- Ability to reach with arms and hands
- Ability to climb or balance
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
- Ability to exert 30 – 60 pounds of force occasionally, and or 20-30 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Ability to be frequently exposed to a warehouse environment and moving vehicles
- Ability to work in a manner that is consistent with company's core values
- Ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding and compliance with the company's safe lifting practices standard operating procedures
- Ability to demonstrate the ability to drive and teach the company philosophy around the basic P's of retail
- Ability to provide direction to all product sales specialists to ensure a highly attentive and accurate level of customer service
- Ability to complete all product specialist certification courses
- Ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of merchandise and installation
- Ability to ensure the overall merchandising, pricing and organization of the department
- Ability to communicate standard operating procedure direction and changes to all associates in a timely manner
- Ability to complete the Industrial Truck (forklift) proficiency testing and certification
- Ability to communicate inventory needs to management
- Ability to direct and assist the processing of merchandise to the showroom floor
- Ability to validate all product placement and pricing within the department
- Ability to greet every customer in a helpful and courteous manner
- Ability to assist customers with product questions and selections
- Ability to process customers at check-out using the point of sale (POS) system
- Ability to process customer refunds and exchanges according to established guidelines
- Ability to present 'how-to' classes to customers
- Ability to follow established cash, check and charge card acceptance procedures
- Ability to answer the telephone according to accepted guidelines
- Ability to stock and tag merchandise displays as required
- Ability to create price tags and merchandise signs
