Job Summary
Assistant Department Manager (Deco) responsible for training and developing Product Sales Specialists and ensuring that customers have a positive shopping experience by delivering exceptional customer service and accurate product information. Key duties include directing product sales staff, completing certification courses, managing merchandising, pricing, and department organization, overseeing forklift certification, handling POS transactions and customer refunds/exchanges, presenting how-to classes, and communicating SOP changes to associates while maintaining standards in a fast-paced retail warehouse setting.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of customer service/sales experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Complete product specialist certification courses
- Industrial Truck (forklift) proficiency testing and certification
- Greet customers and assist with product questions and selections
- Process customers at POS and handle refunds/exchanges according to guidelines
- Provide direction to product sales specialists to ensure high level of customer service
- Demonstrate understanding of merchandise and installation
- Ensure merchandising, pricing, and organization of the department
- Communicate SOPs and changes to associates in a timely manner
- Stock and tag merchandise displays; create price tags and signs
- Work in a warehouse environment with physical requirements
- Store hours and pickup hours as listed in description
