Job Summary
Manage and lead the busiest deli team by coordinating production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, and goal setting. Assist the Deli Manager with ordering, inventory controls, product quality, and equipment maintenance while ensuring strict adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Lead team development through hiring, training, and brainstorming sessions to deliver high-quality products and exceptional customer service. Operate slicers, wrapping, and cooking equipment while handling store deliveries and maintaining safe working conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Preferred 2 years supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of deli or related food service
- Dependable and reliable
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes; including nights, weekends and holidays
- Strong good communication skills both written and verbal
- Ability to take and give direction
- Ability to participate in a team environment
- Outgoing and friendly behavior
- Positive attitude
- Ability to interact with customers
- Ability to take special orders
- Ability to answer phones
- Proven leadership ability to build, motivate and maintain staff

- Food Safety certification
- Strong organization and planning skills
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
- Must be able to lift/carry product horizontally/vertically weighing up to 70 lbs., from 4" to 60", for a distance up to 20 feet without mechanical assistance for up to 4 hours
- Must be able to stand for up to 4 hour continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift
- Ability to operate a slicer, wrapping and cooking equipment
- Ability to assist in maintaining all equipment in safe working condition
- Ability to perform other related duties as assigned
