Job Summary
Assistant Debate Coach at Pocatello High School serves as a key member of the athletics program, focusing on developing student-athletes’ debate skills and participation. Responsibilities include building a strong coaching staff, planning and maintaining positive relationships with student-athletes, administration, booster club, and the public; promoting the overall athletic program; ensuring supervision and safety of student-athletes; teaching debate fundamentals, game strategy, and competitive preparation; coordinating with the Athletic Director and Principal; managing scheduling, transportation, equipment, inventory, and budget adhering to IHSAA policies and district guidelines; and facilitating program growth and student eligibility while fostering discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- Idaho Teacher Certification or NFHS/ASEP certified
- Previous experience as a player and/or coach
- Letters of application stating qualifications for specific position
- Current resume
- Two current letters of recommendation
