Job Summary
Assistant Cross Country Coach collaborates with the Head Coach to lead a Christ-centered program and develop student-athletes both athletically and spiritually. Responsibilities include coaching varsity or JV runners, attending practices and meets, serving as a Christ-like role model, maintaining communication with the Head Coach and athletic staff, leading team devotions, pursuing coaching development, using technology to support coaching and program operations, assisting with team excursions, community and school service, college recruiting, and summer camp operations. The ideal candidate has prior collegiate playing experience, coaching experience, and demonstrates leadership toward a cohesive program while upholding the school's Protestant faith and mission.
Required Qualifications
- Prior collegiate playing experience
- Prior coaching experience
- Knowledge of the game of cross country
- Ability to lead and develop others
- Strong communication with coaches, parents, athletes, and referees
- Commitment to Christ-centered living and Wheaton Academy's faith statement
