Job Summary
Assistant Cross Country Coach responsible for coaching and directing student athletes to develop high-level skills, instill discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Develop regular practice schedules; coach players in sport rules and techniques; supervise contests and practices; travel with the team; maintain equipment, inventories, and eligibility paperwork; oversee locker room conduct and uniform distribution; assist with college recruitment and overall program unity and safety.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years of experience coaching at the high school level
- Head coaching experience preferred
- Thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport
- Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills
- Supervisory Responsibilities: Student athletes
- Essential Functions: Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions
- Travel with student athletes on the team bus both to and from games
- Assist student athletes with college recruitment
