Job Summary
Assistant Counselors (AC) support the Head Counselor with planning daily curriculum and supervising activities for up to 20 campers. Key responsibilities include maintaining active supervision, modeling positive behavior, mediating conflicts, assisting with daily activities, and communicating camper needs with the Head Counselor. Candidates must have prior camp or classroom experience, be at least 18 years old, and complete the required orientation and background checks prior to camp beginning.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in a camp or classroom setting is required
- Must be 18 years of age by the start of camp
- Must attend Camp Staff Orientation before camp begins
- Must complete full Bank Street College of Education background check including fingerprinting and health physical before camp begins
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience working at Bank Street preferred
