Job Summary
Conduct thorough investigations, draft pleadings and motions, and manage document discovery for tort claims in state court. Represent the City, its agencies, and employees in statutory hearings, depositions, and oral arguments on motions, including preliminary, compliance, and settlement conferences. Participate in the trial rotation program by investigating all aspects of trial, performing factual and legal research, securing evidence, developing trial strategy, interviewing witnesses, and negotiating settlements. This role requires one year of civil litigation experience post-law school and admission to the New York State Bar. Salary ranges from $87,737 to $188,235 based on legal experience, with options for flexible remote work or a two-day-per-week pilot program.
Required Qualifications
- one year of civil litigation experience after graduating from an ABA-accredited law school
