Job Summary
Manage the monthly close process, including reviewing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and recording payroll, fixed assets, and accruals. Prepare work papers supporting the close, calculate FX conversions, and handle intercompany eliminations. Coordinate the annual audit process by facilitating issue resolution with the external audit firm and preparing the financial reporting component. Maintain accounting systems compliant with GAAP, analyze emerging standards, and support tax filings for federal, state, and foreign jurisdictions. Work with IT to manage general ledger operations and system errors. Prepare consolidated financial statements and management reports.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or related field
- Certified Public Accountant
- Five or more years of accounting experience or related field
- Project based accounting and manufacturing accounting experience required
- Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting technical skills
- Need excellent Excel skills and Microsoft Office
- This position may require a government security clearance
- Travel up to 10% of the time
- Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds
- Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Standard work schedule, overtime may be necessary for meeting deadlines, required travel, and emergent conditions
- Can interpret financial data contained in reports and ledgers
- Performs day-to-day administrative tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork
- Work in a high energy, high volume, rapidly changing environment
- Takes personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieves results
- Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved
- Clear and effective communication skills in both written and spoken forms
- Knowledge of computer applications including email, databases, word-processing program and spreadsheets (such as Microsoft Office)
- Ensures that decisions are made based on policies, rules and organizational directives to solve emerging problems
- Maintains confidentiality while processing and handling confidential information with discretion
- Can handle frequent interruptions and can multi-task
- Works effectively with different levels of management, team members and customers
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
