Job Summary
Prepare meals, soups, meats, vegetables, and desserts using approved menus while washing, peeling, and slicing ingredients for salads and garnishes. Operate food preparation equipment including convection ovens, stoves, meat slicers, choppers, steamers, and skillets. Manage time to complete scheduled tasks efficiently, maintain product inventory to reduce waste, and report supply needs to the Supervisor or Director. Keep all equipment, storage areas, and work areas clean and maintained to standards set by the North Carolina Department of Health. Wear and maintain the Lake Junaluska staff uniform while complying with safety policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years in food preparation
- Must be flexible
- Work well under pressure
- Able to follow directions
- Must be clean, neat
- Physically capable of performing all assigned duties
- Ability to read and write instructions, correspondence and memos
- Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
- Must be able to prioritize multi-task projects
- Manage time so as to complete all the necessary tasks in the scheduled time
- Be punctual
