Job Summary
Production & Utility role within the Grand Rapids Public Schools food service operations. Responsibilities include assisting in all areas of production, serving and cleanup, potential cashier duties during lunch, interacting positively with students, parents, staff and the community, and performing other duties as assigned. Must be able to stand and move as required, maintain dependable attendance, and work collaboratively in a team-focused environment. Emphasis on sanitation/food handling knowledge, professional appearance, and adherence to safety and hygiene guidelines. ADA accommodations may be provided; diverse applicants encouraged to apply.
Required Qualifications
- Food service production experience or the ability to learn
- Willingness to be trained in all areas of food production
- Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, proper sanitation and food handling procedures
- Consistently demonstrate dependable attendance and punctuality
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team
- Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with Departmental Uniform and Personal Hygiene guidelines
- Ability to collaborate effectively with both scholars and staff
- Encouragement for individuals with limited English skills to apply
