Job Summary
Assist in strengthening statutory accounting and reporting infrastructure for a life and annuity reinsurance company; manage investment portfolio accounting under US GAAP and NAIC guidelines, including footnotes and reconciliations; support CFO with new business opportunities and client/transaction initiatives; collaborate with investment management to forecast budgets and ad hoc requests; lead forecasting for new deals, assist with annual financial statements and schedules, and ensure accurate GAAP/STATUTORY reporting; requires experience with insurance-invested assets (fixed income and other investments) and strong accounting/finance background; CPA preferred and 5+ years in reinsurance finance; advanced Excel and teamwork/communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5+ years of relevant experience; reinsurance experience preferred/a plus
- Experience with US GAAP and Statutory accounting and preparation
- Experience in Annuity & Life Insurance
- CPA preferred
- Proficient with general ledger transactions and financial statement preparation
- Strong analytical skills and ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven environment
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
