Job Summary
Assistant Controller for a Vancouver, BC-based finance team, responsible for monthly/quarterly/annual financial reporting for portfolio entities, overseeing international accounting processes and consolidations, coordinating with external auditors, budgeting/forecasting, cash flow reporting, and enhancing internal controls. Will mentor junior accounting staff, participate in system implementations and automation initiatives, and support tax/VAT/GST filings. Requires CPA designation, 4+ years of experience (public practice and/or industry), IFRS expertise, multi-entity/global consolidations experience, and strong Excel/systems aptitude. Hybrid work arrangement with 2 days in office; collaboration with international teams and senior stakeholders is a key facet of the role.
Required Qualifications
- CPA designation required
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience with international entities or multi-currency accounting is a strong asset
- Strong understanding of IFRS and financial reporting requirements
- Experience supporting audits and preparing working papers
- Excellent communication skills across international teams
- Hybrid work environment - 2 days in office
